Are you an advocate of owning a gun? You may have heard plenty about the dangers of owning a hand gun and the news is full of examples of guns that end up in the hands of criminals, drug addicts, mentally ill or even young children with horrific results. But the truth is that owning a gun is not just a right that we have as a citizen but perhaps an important requirement to responsible citizenship.
Recently, there was a terrible shooting spree in Samson Alabama. The town is very small with only a 5 person police force. They were overwhelmed by the attack. The story might have just ended there with another example of how guns in the wrong hands are dangerous.
However there is more to the story with much broader implications. That small town was surprised to receive some quick assistance from 22 military police soldiers from Fort Rucker, Ala., along with the provost marshal. Statements since say that the soldiers, were directing traffic, securing the crime scenes and otherwise assisting the police of Samson where needed. What is not known is who called for their help- nor why they responded.
CNSNews.com says "Wrongful use of federal troops inside U.S. borders is a violation of several federal laws, including one known as the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, Title 18, Section 1385 of the U.S. Code. “Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both,” the law states."
Silly law? I think not! The President or the Alabama Governor still have the ability to call for the military to aid in civilian difficulties in extreme circumstances under the law, but neither party admits to calling for that aid. It was helpful in this instance but what if the military was not to be trusted and came in using their weapons and numbers to enforce whatever they saw fit at the time? Worse yet, what if, as some gun opponents wish, ONLY the military are allowed guns and civilians are completely unarmed? Then what happens in the situation where an armed military presence comes into town UNINVITED, to assist with something that they "deem" needs assistance?
The early Americans would have had no trouble recognizing the threat this poses. They were used to being bullied by a tyrannical government that used force to control the citizens, and the government thought that what it was doing was in the best interest of everyone. This understanding is the underlying reason for why the 2nd amendment exists. The right to bear arms was considered an integral part of keeping the goverment at a healthy distance.
It is never a bad thing to be prepared. Don't neglect the lessons learned by our founding fathers.
Get your guns and be vigilant. You may never need them ... but even if you don't you might hear what Ronald Reagan called the 9 most dangerous words in the English language, " I'm from the government and I'm here to help..."

What America Means to Me
I don’t remember a time when I was a kid, much unlike most children today, when I was NOT proud to be American. I said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning at the start of class. I took off my hat whenever the Star Spangled Banner was played. I had a joyous heart on the 4th of July walking down Broad Street with the Little Leaguers in the ANNUAL parade. Later that same day my heart felt heavy when the VFW did a 21 gun salute to the fallen heroes. Yes, I was PROUD to be American.
I was only the 3rd generation born in the USA. My parents had a close link to their grandparents, the founding immigrants. Having my family ties from what was a communist country, I had to endure all of the commie jokes most of my adolescence, but I was only one of a few from high school to enlist in the military and fight for what I believed in. Dad was a Vietnam vet. Grandpa fought the “Big One”. I went with my dad and watched him cry as he touched The Wall, seeing the names of his buddies that didn’t come back. That is what America is to me- the softening of the hardest warrior after doing his duty. These men and women know better than most what freedom and liberty is because they fought for it.
America IS the greatest country this world has ever seen. Sure, it has it’s warts, blemishes and atrocities. What country doesn’t? I ask you this- how many other countries are there where people are dying in their efforts to get to it? Those desperately trying to flee a communist country to a lesser evil communist country doesn’t count (think those trying to get INTO China from N. Korea). We are the most philanthropic country, the most caring, the most generous with our time, talents and treasures. When a natural disaster occurs anywhere in the world, who does the world look to for help? When some country needs “policemen” to help quell some uprising, who’s phone rings? Don’t bother listening to Mr. Tingles or the rest of his ilk. The media is full of turncoats and liberals. If you are American, whether natural born or naturalized, BE PROUD OF IT!!
That’s what we as Americans are. We’re proud people. We are fun loving. We have fun at a Sunday church picnic or a NASCAR tailgate party before the race. We reach out and lend a hand to a neighbor that needs it, without looking for payment or paybacks. We’ll pull you out of a ditch or help you out with $20 to see you through to payday. We cheer for the underdog and praise the victor. We have an American flag hanging in at least one room of our house and one on the lawn and another on our bumper. We drive Chevys, Fords and Dodges, not Toyota, Nissan, or Volkswagen. We cheered and jumped for joy when we beat the Soviet Union in Lake Placid (1980 Olympic ice hockey for you young ‘uns). We loved Rambo, Rocky Balboa and Superman. Yes, we are Americans and damn proud of it. Those of you that don’t agree- Fidel always needs new people to add to the gene pool. Got it, Comrade?

The topics of this blog will be varied and far reaching because of the enormous changes that our country has been facing, not only over the last 50 years in general, but especially in the current administration. So I thought a good starting point would be to discuss what might be meant by REVOLUTION:
This first definition is the one folks commonly think of when they see the word linked with America. It reminds us that without the will of brave Americans 200+ years ago we might still be subject to the rule of a King instead of a representative Republic.
Most definitions also include the words “by force” to the above definition. I truly hope the new revolution that we speak of here won't come to that, but I don't rule it out. Don't be shocked. That is how it should be. There should always be that option, and our forefathers encouraged that option. Hence, the right to bear arms.
Recently, we have been experiencing in an acute way another common definition of revolution:
Many will automatically think of the economy. Rightly so! According to Yahoo Finance on their Dow Jones Industrial page, as of March 12 the Dow has lost approximately 4613 points since June 1, 2008. That reality along with the rash of foreclosures, bank failures, job losses, and astronomical bailouts from our government would definitely qualify as “a total or radical change…in circumstances or way of living”
While my family is also experiencing these harsh economic realities I am MORE concerned about the social and ideological changes that our nation faces. Abortion, euthanasia, gay “marriage”, atheist ‘rights’, socialized healthcare reform, gun control, ‘fairness’ doctrine, world government, usurping of parental rights, rampant pornography, the demise of the nuclear family, stripping of religious freedoms, illegal immigration and much more!
We must return to our national roots. So I hope it won't come to literal *blows*… but we can't rule it out. For now I settle with this aspect of the definition of revolution:

Housing Bailout
President Obama wants to save the housing market by providing $75 Billion to people who can't afford their homes and are unable to make their mortgage payments. He has decided that those of us who do make our payments are in much better shape and therefore the government will take our money and give it to those who are either incapable of making sound financial decisions or had a lust for toys they now can't afford. Has the President asked the question that after the impoverished family living in their 4,000 square foot shack receive their relief what they will do afterwards? OK, I understand that not everybody in a foreclosure situation bought a large home (keep in mind the average square foot home in the 1950's was 983 square feet, typically 1 full bath and children shared bedrooms).
Many consider themselves middle class, perhaps business owners who just got caught up in a housing market that is tumbling. Well let's peel back the onion and ask some fundamental questions? How much credit card debt do you have? How much do you owe on your cars? How much savings do you have? Could your family have been able to live in a smaller house? Then the biggest questions one should be asked is, where did you get the idea you should never suffer? No where did our founding fathers say you have a right to a house, a car, or a spa membership. They did say you have a right to pursue happiness not that your guaranteed it.

Hello America
It has now been 1 month since Barack Obama took over the reigns to the highest office in the free world, President of the United States of America. In this short period of time he has changed the fabric of our Country to resemble that of a socialist nation rather than the one our founding fathers started just a couple of hundred years ago. With the implementation of the stimulus plan, a medical records monitoring department, foreclosure bailout, money for oversees abortions, control over the census department, fairness doctrine and others, President Obama has caused a sensation of furor to run through our great country.
We are convinced that President Obama wants to change our country away from God, the free markets, capitalism, and the republic we were founded on. We believe that the majority of citizens in this great nation reject his ideas of socialism so much that they are willing to stand up and right the wrongs already committed and those on the horizon.
One of the pillars needed to change this country is knowledge, we need to know the truth and be able to share it with each other. We will attempt through various writers to inform and give opinion on current events shaping our country. Please join us in commenting and spreading the word that Americans will not let our nation fall.
